A Little Humor on Friday

I received the following in an E-mail today:

SCHOOL -- 1957 vs. 2007

Scenario:  Jack goes quail hunting before school, pulls into school parking lot with shotgun in gun rack.
1957 - Vice Principal comes over, looks at Jack's shotgun, goes to his car and gets his shotgun to show Jack.
2007 - School goes into lock down, FBI called, Jack hauled off to jail and never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in for traumatized students and teachers.  

Scenario:  Johnny and Mark get into a fistfight after school.
1957 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up buddies.
2007 - Police called, SWAT team arrives, arrests Johnny and Mark. Charge them with assault, both expelled even though Johnny started it.  

Scenario:  Jeffrey won't be still in class, disrupts other students.
1957 - Jeffrey sent to office and given a good paddling by the Principal. Returns to class, sits still and does not disrupt class again.
2007 - Jeffrey given huge doses of Ritalin. Becomes a zombie. Tested for ADD. School gets extra money from state because Jeffrey has a disability.  

Scenario:  Billy breaks a window in his neighbor's car and his Dad gives him a whipping with his belt.
1957 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to college, and becomes a successful businessman.
2007 - Billy's dad is arrested for child abuse.  Billy removed to foster care and joins a gang.  State psychologist tells Billy's sister that she remembers being abused herself and their dad goes to prison.  Billy's mom has affair with psychologist.  

Scenario:  Mark gets a headache and takes some aspirin to school.
1957 - Mark shares aspirin with Principal out on the smoking dock.
2007 - Police called, Mark expelled from school for drug violations. Car searched for drugs and weapons.  

Scenario:  Pedro fails high school English.
1957 - Pedro goes to summer school, passes English, goes to college.
2007 - Pedro's cause is taken up by state. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against state school system and Pedro's English teacher.  English banned from core curriculum.  Pedro given diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he cannot speak English.  

Scenario:  Johnny takes apart leftover firecrackers from 4th of July, puts them in a model airplane pain t bottle, blows up a red ant bed.
1957 - Ants die.
2007 - BATF, Homeland Security, FBI called. Johnny charged with  domestic terrorism, FBI investigates parents, siblings removed from home, computers confiscated, Johnny's Dad goes on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again. 

Scenario:  Johnny falls while running during recess and scrapes his knee. He is found crying by his teacher, Mary.  Mary hugs him to comfort him.
1957 - In a short time, Johnny feels better and goes on playing.
2007 - Mary is accused of being a sexual predator and loses her job. She faces 3 years in State Prison. Johnny undergoes 5 years of therapy.

Obama the Puppet

One thing I haven't seen discussed is the pshychology of Barack Obama. Everything about him should give Psychologists and Psychiatrists ample research. First off, it would appear that is mother was a loon. In the snippets I have read discussing her, she was little different than those around here. Secondly, his father was a radical kook who apparently went through women like most men go through socks. Then there is the differences in the religions he participated in Islam versus Christianity. Then throw in the balck versus white situation. This is a man who has no sense of identity. Psychologically, this makes him a perfect puppet. Since he is searching for an identity he will grasp at any identity that makes him appear to be liked and appreciated.

Based on Obama's own writings, his internal dilemma and personality crisis is out in the open for all to see. This is accentuated by the differences in "opinions" when reading from a script and speaking off the cuff. Often times his ad hoc responses are diametrically opposed to those he provides when giving a scripted presentation. Something is missing in this man.
 
I believe that he is being controlled by some group of democratic politicians. Whereas Bill Clinton followed polls, Mr. Obama does as he is told by his handlers. I don't know who is pulling these strings but there is somebody dictating to Mr. Obama on what to say, how to say it, and who to say it to. His inability to think on his own was put on display at the townhall with John McCain. This has to make his handlers nervous because there will be debates with Mr. McCain. If he continues to fluster his way through them his supporters will start dropping by the wayside. This would be bad for the socialist agenda.

The Bear is out of hibernation

Here is my theory on the present situation involving Russia. The present invasion of Georgia is the continuation of it's attempt to retake land and power it had given up when the Berlin Wall came down. First off, Russians are a very proud people. Proud to a fault. The end of their dominance, in their mind, didn't happen because the West was stronger but because they made mistakes internally. Whereas the West considered it a victory, the Russians considered it a setback that they would avenge.

If you have paid attention to world affairs, even in a cursory manner, you would have noticed that Russia is always on the other side of issues from the United States. Russia still deems the US as it's mortal enemy. They find it laughable that the US claims victory when the Russians have yet to cede anything. The Cold War never truly ended it just changed tactics. The conflicts with Afghanistan and Iraq were opposed by the Russians. This should have put the West, especially the US on notice. Russia has also been a hindrance with Iran, North Korea, Syria, Lebanon, and the other Middle East problems. Every time the US tries to install firm sanctions on Iran, Russia denies it and waters them down. Even an amateur policy watcher would realize that Russia has something going on behind the scenes.

As we found out with the fall of Saddam Hussein, their was financial backing and business ventures setup with Moscow. Once this was realized, our approach to Vladimir Putin should have made a drastic shift. Unfortunately President Bush thought that Mr. Putin was someone he could work with. If I remember my history, Harry Truman thought he could work with Josef Stalin while Stalin thought Truman to be a coward. The West always tries to look at people's perceived positives. When dealing with Russians, as in dealing with Middle Eastern Despots, the positives are for show only.

I would not doubt that Russia is behind all the events that has kept the West, mainly the US, occupied over the last decade. While the US is distracted, Russia can play. Mr. Putin has got to watch and analyze the west as it has bowed down to despots in the Middle East. The US has its military engaged in two country building missions and doesn't have the manpower to stop him from moving wherever he wants to. He also realizes that NATO is empty without US military might. Mr. Putin leads a nation that learned how to manipulate the United Nations a long time ago therefore the UN is even more inept than first thought.

If I worked within the braintrust of the American government I would be highly active in gathering Russian intelligence data. History has proven time and time again that the Russians do not go away. They restrategize and attack. Once again we have proof that the world we have built is not a very nice place. The Russians will fight. We have proven that the West doesn't have the stomach to fight. If the West backs down, 50 years from now it will be the Russian Union taking on the Islamic Union for domination of the planet. The West will have been nothing more than a blip in time.

An Easy Energy Plan

All the talk about energy plans being circulated my politicians, their parties, and other self proclaimed experts is somewhat of a joke. For thirty years this country has become more and more dependant on foreign sources of fuel. This is about as anti American as it gets. For some reason there have been no refineries built. No nuclear plants developed. And drilling for oil is a serious no-no. It's time for that to change.
 
Here's my plan. It would take around 25 years to preoduce the final results we are looking for. First, get to drilling as soon as humanly possible. This not only includes regular oil deposits but also oil shale that seems to be abundant in this nation. Second, get to building power plants. Nuclear preferred, but any will do. While this is happening, get our smartest people working on legitimate alternatives. Not only should this group be researching better fuel sources, they should also be responsible for the logistics of supplying this alternative to the masses. Keep the government out of it. The only thing the government should be allowed to provide is a serious reward for the final developmment and delivery.
 
25 years may seem like a long time, but had this began in 1979 when Iran created a crisis, we would already be reaping the benefits. However, president after President, and all Congresses have catered to their lobbyists and now we are paying the price. There is nothing complicated about our present situation and the answer is not complicated. the problem is politicians lack the spine to do it.
